OK, let's have a look at the fifth genration which is a little bit academical.
On the other side
codec capabilities will be shown very well. So I simply did it.
This are the results of the 5th generation:
 Sony Pictures DV (5. Generation)
 Sony Pictures DV (5. Generation)
Without these annoying and strange artefacts this codec would be the overall
winner !
 Canopus DV (5. Generation)
 Canopus DV (5. Generation)
More mosquito pixelation than Sony Pictures DV but no block artefacts ...
 Mainconcept DV (5. Generation)
 Mainconcept DV (5. Generation)
Uhh, these horizontal lines do hurt my eyes. I have no explanation for that.
Note that the internal Premiere Pro DV
Codec from Mainconcept (v2.4.3) is some sort of a "light version" with
no additional options to set (like there is in
the full 2.4.4 version, especially the 16-235/0-255 encoding/decoding option).
Because of that you will need it to decode your DV too (or the MS-DV) to not get
grey instead of white and washed out
colors.
More infos to come ...
